Keeping
Emily's
giving spirit
alive...

Our community's efforts created a giving memorial that would have made Emily smile.....She would have graduated with the Centennial High School Class of 2006. As her classmates crossed the stage at the graduation ceremony, Emily was there through the granting of the 1st Emily Davis Memorial Scholarship. What started as an idea by her friend, and classmate, Jenny Feldmann, to honor Emily, evolved into a community-wide effort of her friends and family.
The Foundation raised enough money to award the Emily Davis Memorial Scholarship for years. By granting this Scholarship each year we celebrate Emily's life in the best way possible by helping a deserving student at her almameter as they pursue their dreams. This was the primary mission for ten years, The mission of Emily's Foundation is to keep her giving spirit alive. Her selflessness and intuition gave her the unique ability to embrace the human spirit. ♥ Emily always cared about the well being and needs of others more then her own.
Emily's memory was rekindled each year by recognizing a Centennial High School Senior who closely resembles her qualities. The scholarship grant continued for 10 years, through 2015. The Foundation also helps the parents and families of children battling cancer with some support and comfort items as they fight the fight. The Foundation donates to the pediatric oncoloy nurses discretionary fund at The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at John Hopkins Hospital. This allows nurses on the front line to help those families in need as they see fit. As the mission of Emily's Foundation has matured it now donated 100% of it's annual grant to the nurses discretionary fund. In 2016 we were able to donate $5,000. The Fund gives the nurses, to primary care givers to make a difference in a small or large way to the families of childern battling cancer as they come to the "Johns-Hopkins" Pediatric Oncology Clinic during the long term theropy that is required. Whether its funds for a lunch, parking, family necessities, comfort or a diversion its all crucial to the families.
"The support, love ♥ and generosity of all of our community, neighbors, friends and family has been tremendous. We will be eternally grateful to all of you for making this memorial scholarship a reality. " - Jake & Carol Davis ♥
